Custom Filtered Earplugs

High Fidelity Custom Filtered Earplugs

High Fidelity Earplugs are designed with music and communication in mind. The main difference: foam or universal fit earplugs reduce higher frequencies more than lower frequencies, leaving sound distorted and unnatural. Custom fit filtered earplugs are designed to be uniform in their attenuation, meaning they reduce sound relatively equally across all frequencies to keep music sounding more natural.

How do I know which filter to use for what?

Like the SPF level in sunscreen, the different filter levels represent more or less safety time around loud sounds. Filter levels come in -9, -15, and -25 decibel (dB) attenuation (reduction of sound). Each filter level has a different effect; what filter level is right for you depends on your listening needs and preferences.

Filters are generally interchangeable within one manufacturer, meaning one earplug can accommodate various attenuation levels for more versatility.

Why go custom?

Custom hearing protection is not just for musicians… it is for anyone and everyone who loves their ears! While many filtered earplugs are on the market, going custom ensures you get consistent, high quality sound at a safer level every time. Non-custom products have a greater risk of compromised protection and a greater chance of poorer sound quality.

Will I be able to hear with the earplug in?

Absolutely! Also, probably better than you were hearing without them! Most live music performances, sporting events, bars, and even some restaurants reach sound levels that can cause permanent, irreversible hearing damage. Wearing filtered earplugs, especially when around loud sounds, helps you hear what you want to hear. Not only will you be able to hear the people you are with clearly, you will be protecting your ears for years to come.
